An almost certainly fake ‘grass-roots’ Internet forum post has been circulating on the Chinese Internet since November 30, titled ‘Without the motherland, you are nothing!!!’
The forum post lauds Xi Jinping, criticizes American meddling in other countries, and cautions that China cannot afford to descend into chaos, and that the people who suffer most in times of unrest are the common people. The conclusion is that the Chinese people must firmly stand behind the Communist Party and President Xi. It’s worth noting that the posting refers to Xi as ‘Chairman Xi’.
At the same time, netizens also ridicule about this government sponsored post, using comparable sentences of “without the motherland, you are nothing”.

没有草泥马，祖国什么都不是。 Without Grass Mud Horse(Caonima), the motherland is nothing.
‘Without the motherland, you are nothing!!!’ (没有了祖国你将什么都不是!!!) not only rumors spread
Remaking famous sentence: without the motherland, you can not get marriage certificate, birth certificate, lay-off certificate, and even burial certificate, are you still you? You are nothing…
About “without the motherland, you are nothing”, I think the biggest mistake about this sentence is it is meaningless– we are nothing anyway in this motherland: we need birth certificates to be born, temporary resident cards to move, house ownership for 70 years (with the possibility of forced demolished in between)…
